LOCAL ART VENDING

BOONE, NC

More art Everywhere

The Curio Machine is a collaborative project between artist Bunny Eaton and author Ben Loomis, and a experiment in combining reuse with ingenuity. We took a bunch of old coin-op vending machines and art deco’d them into distro points for art, writing, stickers, and other fun goods. Our mission is to make local art more collectible and accessible to everyone, and support a culture of everyday art in Boone North Carolina.

NOW FEATURING ZINES!

To tie Free Radical Books and the Curio Machine together, Free Rad is branching out into zine printing. We’ve got the templates all set up and used "Component 5” as the first test. I’m trying to slowly build Free Radical Books into a formidable piece for bringing new literature into being, and love the diy nature of zinemaking. It’s been a blast to figure out how to put the content in zine form, but now we have the formatting all down and are ready to start offering zine printing (through Free Radical) and zine distribution (through the Curio Machine).

If you’d like to create a collective of local zine makers, take a look at the Free Radical submission page for how to get started and put your art and writing into zine circulation.

VIVA LA WATAUGA!
